LEGENDARY French label Givenchy has teamed up with luxury department store in Tokyo to create a unique homage to Japanese culture.
Isetan – the destination for all things fashionable and luxurious – has been long at the cutting edge of Japanese fashion. Located in the Shinjuku district, it makes for a perfect match with Givenchy’s effortless style which marries cool with timeless.
Designed as a tribute to Japanese culture, the capsule collection showcases the signature aesthetics of Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci. Building on the traditional ample, geometric silhouettes and graphic prints Tisci incorporated the modern mood of the Japanese streets – playful and elegantly flamboyant. The resulting ready-to-wear collection carries his signature star motifs across the range and natural penchant for bringing the taste of haute couture to everyday wear.
Consisting of men’s and women’s wear items, as well as footwear and accessories, the exclusive range contrasts classic Givenchy’s effortless opulence with traditional Japanese themes drawing on nature, especially the ever-present florals. Juxtaposed against the sensational style of modern Japanese fashionistas, the collection forms a complete testimony to continuing brilliance of the country’s culture.
