This year’s winner of Business Design Centre New Designer of the Year Award was Jack Lennie of  Edinburgh Napier University for Tinker. The judges said of Lennie’s work, “We appreciated Jack’s project because his starting point was an approach to sustainability that was not predictable. Having found that 90 per cent of bikes were written off due to frame damage, he found a clever, innovative way of bringing scrap back to life. He was passionate, intelligent and articulate, and had thoughtful answers to our questions. His designs had a solution-driven aesthetic and the application of the concept could be far, far wider.”
