Tickets Announced For New Designers 2017, Business Design Centre

NEW DESIGNERS, UK’s most important trade exhibition for emerging talent which open to the public, has announced  that tickets are now available for this year’s show. Now in its 32nd edition, New Designers is one of the most prominent industry shows thanks to its unique blend of design education, consumers and industry all mixed together to celebrate emerging talent. Taking place this June at the Business Design Centre, Islington,  the event is renowned for kick-starting the careers by providing a promotional platform for young creatives.

Divided into two parts, the exhibition introduces over 3,000 design graduates to the wider public and also gives the visitors the chance to purchase their creations.

The first three days will present the latest talent in textiles and fashion, costume design, jewellery and metalwork, ceramics and glass and contemporary design crafts. The following days will feature exhibitors in the disciplines of furniture, product and industrial design, spatial design and interiors, graphic design, illustration, animation, motion and digital arts.

As New Designers’ organisers strive to show completely new content each year, and also includes a One Year On retrospective presenting the progress of  exhibitors from previous years.

New Designers 2016 Show Returns to Business Design Centre, London

This summer’s most prominent event showcasing emerging talent in design – New Designers 2016 – will return for its 31st edition.

The event focuses on the individuals who are at the beginning on their careers and gives unparalleled opportunity to investors and public to familiarise themselves with and endorse new craftsmanship.

Located in the Business Design Centre in London the show runs over two weeks and brings in over 3,000 creatives and design graduates from across UK. It is divided into two parts each focusing on various creative outlets.

The first of the exhibition showcases the brightest individuals in the fields of textiles and fashion, costume design, jewellery and precious metalwork, ceramics and glass and contemporary design crafts. Part two focuses on furniture, product and industrial design, spatial design, graphic design, illustration, animation, motion and digital arts.

An important part of the event is a unique showcase One Year On during which the visitors will be able to meet 50 entrepreneurial designers who  launched their businesses a year ago – Rheanna Lingham of Luna and Curious is among them.

Additionally on each Wednesday during the event the most innovative graduates will be presented New Designers Awards in partnership with leading sponsors which include Absolut, Anthology, AVA CAD/CAM, AW Hainsworth & Sons Ltd, Hallmark, Cards PLC, Kingfisher, LEGO, Not on the High Street, The Goldsmiths’ Company, Wilko + Winnovate.

THIS WEEK New Designers Associate Prizes were awarded to six of the best graduate designers who are exhibiting in Part 1 of New Designers 2015, across the following disciplines: Textiles; Fashion & Accessories; Contemporary Applied Arts (including Ceramics and Glass); Jewellery and Precious Metalwork.

New Designers 2015 Contemporary Glass Society Associate Prize winner

The winners were Emily Rose Moloney of  University for Creative Arts, Farnham who won the New Designers Christy Carpets Associate Prize for her Elemental AW16/17 Active Footwear; Robin Crawford of Edinburgh College of Art won the New Designers Contemporary Glass Society Associate Prize;  New Designers Clothworkers Company Associate Prize was awarded to Emma McCluskey from  DJCAD (University of Dundee) for her work entitled Unnatural Botanicals; Heriot-Watt University graduate Louise Jenkins was the winner of New Designers Worshipful Company of Weavers Associate Prize for her piece Modern Tradition; Kernewek Bywedh (The Cornish Life) by Alice Selwood of Falmouth University won the Wilcom Associate Prize and New Designers craft&design Associate Prize was won by Beatrice Wall of Hereford College of Art
for Beetles for Battle.

Director of New Designers Isobel Dennis said: “As New Designers sees its 30th edition this year our winners today have demonstrated it’s just as strong as it’s ever been.
